Can you believe Galentine’s Day originated from a TV show? I know right? Parks and Recreation created an episode with the same title themed around celebrating female friendships. Since this episode premiered it has caught on in pop culture and mainstream marketing, female friend groups around the world are preparing to celebrate the holiday before Valentine’s Day.
Galentine's Day allows many women to uplift their friends, create new memories, and center these important relationships regardless of their relationship status. Think of it like a much-needed date night with your closest friends. You wouldn’t skip date night with your partner, right? Why should you slack on your friends? The reality is between life, relationships, careers, family, and everything else going on in the world it can be a bit of a challenge at times to get together with our friends. Days, weeks, and months go by before you look up and realize those plans you were supposed to make never made it to your calendar. Now I'm not saying Galentine’s Day is your saving grace and is the one time to meet up with your girlfriends, but I do believe it gives you a holiday just for your group to look forward to. Have a caviar and champagne night, make dinner reservations, and even exchange gifts.
