We are fully in the swing of Autumn. Pumpkin Spice everything, haunted houses, and attempts to watch all of the horror movies before the month is up. You have also probably heard many people mention locking in for quarter four and making these next few months count. A way to recommit ourselves to previously set goals before the year is up. So realistically, what does that look like? Does your routine look different in quarter four? Where is the balance of a relaxing Sunday while also accomplishing your personal and professional goals?
Well, I hate to break it to you, but if you aren’t already an early riser, you’re about to become one. And it starts on Sunday. I know, I have been preaching relaxation on Sundays, which is still true; however, if you do have goals for this quarter, you owe it to yourself to knock those items out earlier in the day. After all, we are trying to prevent Sunday scaries, and one way to do so is to feel as though you are ahead of the week, not playing catch-up.
Here is how I would advise structuring your Sunday:
7 am early gym session and shower
A hearty breakfast (Sundays are for a wholesome breakfast, what are you rushing?)
Sit down and plan the week out, plan your goals, and identify where you are in accomplishing your quarter four goals. Is there an action you can take today that will save you time later in the week? (If you’re an NFL football fan, this should set you up to finish up right before kickoff of the first set of games)
Cook dinner. Trust me, you do not want to be stuck in the kitchen late in the day, and if you are a bit tired by this point, I would suggest trying one of The Subversive Table's easy asian inspired Fall recipes.
If you have a goal of watching spooky shows and movies, obviously, now is the best time to revisit Sinners, Interview with a Vampire season one and two, Lovecraft Country, Wednesday, and anticipate Frankenstein by Guillermo del Toro.
I hope your week is better than the last.
